Boxwood looks very nice, 13 very nice solid silver keys, 4 bone rings and one bone bell ring, bell has little chips, barrel bone ring has a small crack, tunable barrel with a metal tube liner, total length 60.1 cm.

Goulding & Co. London An unusual and rare 6 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in Bb. Big bodied and heavy boxwood, stamped on all five joints; Goulding & Co., London. 6 rarely seen brass keys (one later replacement), they look like they are adjustable, not in need of pads, but not pewter plug keys either. Anyway, very unusual, definitely museum's quality. bone rings, one crack in barrel and one hairline crack in the 3rd joint, bone bellring missing, including contemporary mouthpiece in fair condition, stamped: Geo Wood. Will be a wonderful Clarinet after restoration. Total length without mouthpiece 59.5 cm.

Also stamped on the bell: late Geo Wood, New Compton Strt, 50 Soho, London. 5 bone rings in good condition, boxwood in good condition no cracks at all, 6 good brass keys with good springs, need new pads, original ebony mouthpiece in fair condition. Jerome Thibouville: Paris-France, 1860s An interesting 13 keyed non barrel boxwood clarinet in Bb with 13 brass keys, stamped: J. T. L. Jerome Thibouville, Paris. 4 brass rings, no cracks, including non original mouthpiece, total length without mouthpiece 56.9 cm, bell diameter 8.2 cm.
Anonymous around 1840 An all original brass mounted boxwood clarinet in C, 6 brass keys which need some cleaning and new pads, 4 brass rings one missing, three of the rings have small cracks, boxwood has a beautiful dark color to it, still in good condition except for a tiny hairline crack in the third joint (4 cm), original mouthpiece included, total length with mouthpiece 59.3 cm.

That dates the clarinet to 1799-1806, bell is chipped and misses the bone ring, barrel is also missing. Big unrepaired crack in the middlejoint. 5 original brass keys with working spring, no pads. Carl Boose: London, 1851 A very early 13 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in Bb with good bone bands, as shown by Carl Boose at the 1851 Gt. Exhibition. Stamped on all four joints: C. Boose, also stamped on the bell: 24 Holles Street, London. Also stamped on the barrel: 1257, and at top of the first joint: 1253. Boxwood in good condition except for 2 repaired cracks (2 cm) in top end of the 2nd joint. Very nice bone bands in good condition except the top barrel band which has been repaired years ago. Good brass keys, some are sticky and maybe have broken springs, needs new pads. Measurements: - total length 60.1 cm - diameter of bell 7.9 cm
Joseph Wallis: London, 1848-1853 An original 10 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in Bb stamped on all joints: a "Crown" and Wallis, Providence St., Walworth, London, "B". This dates the clarinet to 1848-1853. The boxwood is in good condition, no cracks, but chipped bell, good bone rings, bellring missing, useless original ebony mouthpiece with defective bone band, 10 good brass keys, 2 with bad springs, pads are in fair condition. Richard John Bilton: London, 1840s 8 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in Bb, stamped on 3 joints and the mouthpiece: a "Unicorn", Bilton, London, also stamped: 9 Westminster Bridge Road, late APPce & For?? To Cramer, London. Boxwood in good condition, except for barrel joint, good bone rings, except for broken bell ring. Barrel is not stamped, but looks the same as the rest, ebony mouthpiece is also stamped. 8 brass keys, 2 missing, one covered hole with later key, but key is missing. Astor & Horwood: London, 1815-1822 6 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in C with some damage, stamped on all 5 joints: Astor Horwood and a Unicorn, also stamped on the bell: Astor & Horwood, 79 Cornhill, London and a Unicorn, which would date the instrument 1815 to 1822. Goulding & Co.: London 1799-1804 Very early 5 keyed boxwood clarinet with bone bands in Bb, stamped on every joint: Goulding & Co. London (1799-1804). Barrel joint missing, open crack in the first joint (8cm), crack in the second joint 1 cm, good big bone bands and bell ring, unusual brass keys, the first one is not original, but stamped with initials, sold as is for restoration. Metzler, London 1812-16 An all original 6 keyed bone mounted boxwood clarinet in C stamped 4 times: Metzler London, also stamped: 105 Wardour St, Townsend Manohr. 6 good bone rings, boxwood has no cracks, 6 original brass keys, need new springs and pads. It is unusual for a 190 year old clarinet to be in such remarkable good original condition. If this clarinet is cleaned up it could pass as showroom condition. No mouthpiece included.
